Halloween

My uncle Eddy and auntie Sandra came up from Corby to see Gran rock in her band at Halloween.

Here's Gran Rocking.

Dad sporting his bruised puss from being run over and aunt Amy.

A scary looking auntie Stephanie performed a dance routine on the night.

Stewart made the mistake of dressing like all the mutton's fantasy consequently was harrassed with Amy drawing some daggers in the process. I really don't know what Mmpots is dressed as.

Pirate Dad and St. Trinian Gran.

Mum as Tinkerspell (a kinda witchy tinkerbell)

I have a thing for nuns!

Cheeseball...

I was sure that terrorists don't drink.

Taxi for dad

I got ran over this morning for the very first time.

On my way home from Ally's flat, I had to change buses at the bus stop between Tesco and KFC on Nicholson St. I went into the shop opposite to get change for the bus. When I got out of the door I saw the 30 pulling into the bus stop so I ran despite my vision of this side of the street being obscured by a bus at the bus stop as I sprinted in front of the parked bus I heard gasps all around me triggering my spider sense, I tried to stop but couldn't and ran into the windscreen of a taxi. Fortunately I had slowed enough not to get hit by the bonnet. Getting hit in the face and right arm spinning me away rather than throwing me up in the air.

My head felt tight but I didn't notice the pains in my arm until I got on the bus and yes I did miss the 30. I just stood against the wall for a little while centering myself while the taxi driver asked if I was OK. After the daze I apologized for my stupidity accepted a tissue for my burst lip and walked across to my bus stop.

On the next bus I caught my reflection in the window which caused me to laugh because my left cheek had a massive bruise on it. I knew nobody would buy my 'being run over by a taxi' story. C'est la vie.

I will be short of photos while the Grandparents are in Indo. They took back the camera or else I'd have posted my black and blue face.

Steal This Film: Faith healer.

Leave it to the swedish to do something right...
After stumbling across this film I visited Pirate Bay. What a site! I can't believe I am so slow to catch on to this bit-torrent chat. I was becoming rather disallusioned with downloading shit because it would always be on a trial basis and riddled with spyware, searching for something inevitably led to being directed to amazon or ebay. You know what I mean.

Gran takes Charlie to Paris.

Charlie is away from home for her longest time to date, she's away to what was considered to be the most romantic city in the world in the pre-Disney era. Obviously it still has the picturesque buildings, historical sites and, of course, the food.

People flock from all the corners of the world to come to this famous city in search of its legendary monuments, magnificent buildings, aromatic atmosphere and delicious delicacies and er Euro Disney. But will Paris really live up to its hyped-up standard?

We'll see what Gran and Charlie have to say when the return next Tuesday.

Here's Charlie and her wee pal Toni at the Airport getting ready to fly off.

Bon voyage mon petit belle xxx

Amy's Dragon

This is Louis the bearded dragon.

Amy was at first apprehensive about buying this prehistoric monster, because she's a big feardy. The £500 price tag should have been what cast the doubt in my opinion especially since it cannae even eat the spiders that plague Amy's existence. According to the pet shop folk, special insects have to be bought to feed Louis. Mmmmmmm is anyone else suspicious of this advice?

Amy's arachnophobia has now extended to include even the word SPIDER. The harmless little beasties have the power to reduce the once mighty Mmpots to tears. Time to get your head checked Bobbins methinks...

Bum shuffler.

At the age of eleven months, Phoenix has finally become mobile. She has an awkward style but it gets the job done. Having dismantled the speaker on the CD player, she heads for the camera.

Her legs just seem a hinderence as she pulls herself along on her bum. However, despite her determination not to use her legs, I think that this style of shuffling will still strengthen them...

A visit to Great Gran and Granda Martin.

Phoenix took control of the wheel, Charlie was pushing the pedals as we took a trip to Great Gran's.
On the way there, Granda Martin took us to see the kids Christmas prezzi which is a massive trampoline. Meanwhile Charlie takes a drive herself with a jellybaby.
Big cousin Jessica is there to greet all of us. My wee cousin Martin is there as usual but I feared the camera would crack if I tried to picture him so he just gets a mention.
All the younglins on the dancefloor.
The trusty windowledge, I remember the days when it was my seat.
Great Gran and Granda full of pride and joy.

Charlie's first bothy trip.

It has been a week but here's what happened. Grandad was through about 3pm for our long journey back across to the West, near the Skye Bridge. The bothy we were destined for was Suardalan. Here's Grandad in a brief photo op with Phoenix just before we set off.
The journey took a little longer than planned and with the nights fair drawing in, we decided to stop at a shally. The journey had taken it's toll and Charlie who had been sick and was crashed out in the back seat.
As soon as we arrived Charlie woke up and was as bright as a button (we probably could have chanced the night walk into the bothy) instead we went for a meal and a pint then had an early night.
The next morning we were up bright and early, Charlie finally did the toilet after a 18 hour strike, surprisingly managing not to pee the bed the night before.
Off we went and about an hour later we were there, we could see the bothy from the road. We pulled in, got our boots on and made our way over a wee hill before Charlie took her seat on my shoulders next it was threw some marsh squelch squelch, across the river splish splash, threw the herd off cows moo moo and across the plain to the bothy. It only took about 20 minutes, an ideal bothy for young children.
It was an empty bothy even bigger than Steioneag, 3 rooms at ground level and 2 rooms up the ladder. We unpacked and got set up before having some scran. Charlie was loving it, running about outside next to the cows.
Our plan to go across to Skye was scuppered by the night in the shally so instead we headed back down to the car and made our way into the village for a pint in the pub and a dram in the field.

The weather was fantastic all weekend. Charlie, top off scrambling over rocks up in the hills.
The cows seemed fascinated with our little halfling which suited Charlie who was loving their company.
Mooooo....
This was the room we nested in, clean and tidy with wood and a bag of coal sitting. Top Marks...
Nosey parker up the ladders checking out our digs.
Grandad getting the dinner on, notice how peaty the water is - it looks like pish.
Another adventurous climb at the pub, before the top came off.

This is from the drive up, the clouds were rolling across the mountains so gracefully, it looked amazing.

Charlie kitted out in her new pink welly boots sitting on the dry-stone dyke just outside the bothy.
Here we are down by our pishy peaty water supply, no drinking straight out off this stream. There were some cool little waterfalls and it was very rocky so you could scramble right up the stream but nothing to write home about.

Some of the peaks from the bothy.

And it was hometime after tidying up Grandad and Charlie make their way as I get in a few last photos.
Bye bye Suardalan.
This is next to where we parked the car, it is more of the ACF (ancient caledonian forest) although the picture turned out crap because of the long grass which hides the petrified stumps.
